The Long Story

Stephen’s passion for audio started back in 7th grade when he bought his cousins’ 4-track Fostex cassette tape recorder. He started making Christmas albums for friends and family. It quickly snow balled into having a small home studio in high school to record friends’ bands. He then started interning at The Studios at Linden Oaks, a recording studio in Rochester, NY as a junior in high school. He had the unique opportunity to assist with tracking and mix sessions for GMC, Buick, AAA, Wegmans, and Raymour & Flanigan. This was his introduction into the advertising world and composing for commercials. It also led to his first opportunity as a session guitarist. After high school, Stephen went to Duquesne University and studied music technology where he continued to learn about recording and music/guitar.

After college, Stephen moved to NYC with 3 months rent saved up and a relentless drive to find a studio job in NYC. He worked for almost 11 years as an engineer at HOBO Audio, one of the premiere audio post studios in NYC. Now, Stephen is a freelance engineer in LA helping to elevate your story with whatever film, TV series, commercial, or project that he works on.

These 11 years and counting have kept Stephen busy in the audio post world. He’s been awarded 4 Telly Awards for his work. In 2017, he was also nominated for a sound editing, MPSE Golden Reel Award for his work on the Netflix documentary 'Amanda Knox.' He’s had the privilege of working with clients like Ferrari, IBM, Sesame Street, Yellow Tail Wine, MasterClass, Comcast, Verizon, and Samsung. His audio work can also be seen on Netflix, HBO, NBC Sports, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, NatGeo, and more.
